General description of support bearings

For our range of bridge and support bearings SBS works closely with LHG.

LHG pre-finished and maintenance-free slide support bearings as free-floating bearings and fixed bearings.

Pipelines, flues, boilers, heat exchangers, gas filters and such are subject to thermodynamic expansion resulting from changes of temperature. And in the case of simple steel/steel bearings, a considerable build-up of these forces can occur. The expanding and contracting forces caused by this action as mentioned above, results in the high friction impact sustained by the sliding partners and leads to the significant impairment of the supporting construction at the fixed points. It can even lead to the warping of the components and cause material cracks.

For a simple, cost effective and failure safe construction solution, it is strongly advised to use LHG pre-finished slide support and fixed bearings.

Due to LHG's products excellent sliding properties and the load carrying capacity of slide support bearings (as mentioned above) these problems can be avoided if LHG bearings are used. Being PTFE coated sliding plates, they prevent the ªstick-slip´ effect. And the results desired can be produced at a cost effective price and with little effort.

THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES CHARACTERISE THE LHG SLIDE SUPPORT BEARINGS:

All types of LHG - slide support bearings are provided with a PTFE coated bronze sliding plate.

In connection with a stainless steel counter surface 1.4301 / 1.4401 (surface roughness < 2µm), the sliding plate specifically guarantees minimal dry-sliding friction consequence, without ªstick-slip´ effect and is accompanied by the highest load capacity.

LHG - spherical slide support bearings

are designed for heavy demand and are provided with the best possible application features.
The self-aligning, constant parallelism of the sliding surface prevents edge loading and a constant low friction value can be retained. Production costs are minimal and the level of operational safety is high due to excellent sliding properties and the small dimension of the bearing support.

The standard sizes of LHG - spherical slide support bearings are designed for capacity loads up to the following:
The standard make, with or without top plate is designed for temperature ranges of -150°C to +250°C.

Special designs such as high-temperature bearings up to +500°C are deliverable as well as high load bearings up to kN = 10000.

We deliver pre-finished fixed bearings, LHG type "Fix" for all in terms of overall size and overall applicable height.

LHG - flat slide support bearings 

are designed for simple requirements and are a compact and cost effective sliding bearing solution.

The standard sizes of LHG - flat slide support bearings are designed for capacity loads up to the following:

The standard make, with or without top plate is provided for temperature ranges of -150°C to +250°C.
Special designs such as high-temperature bearings up to +500°C are deliverable, as well as, high load bearings up to kN = 10000.
The installation height is identical with the respective spherical slide support bearing.
We deliver pre-finished fixed bearing, LHG type "Fix" for all overall sizes in the respective applicable overall height.

LHG - bearing plates for welding

These sliding plates are designed for simple bearings. The PTFE-coated steel plates offer maximal bearing capacity (up to kN 3000) and numerous applications, due to their high load capacity.

On our customers' requirement, the production is also possible of special materials such as stainless steel for applications in the food or chemical industry as well as specific medical industry applications.
